I believe you want to know how to convert foot lbs to inch pounds. Well, there are 12 inches in a foot. To convert foot pounds to inch pounds, multiply by 12. To convert inch pounds to foot pounds, divide by 12.

84 - 108 lb/in = 7 - 9 lb/ft. Yes lb/ft - harley states it backwards.

You really need two torque wrenches. One that uses foot Lbs. and one that uses inch Lbs. When you convert inch pounds to foot pounds and come up with 7 - 9 foot pounds, you reall do not want to use a foot lb torque wrench for that fastener because at very low settings the torque wrench isn't very accurate (unless you have a very expensive precision wrench).

I agree with that. A 3/8" and a 1/2" torque wrench is the way to go. Even if they are inexpensive wrenches. When you get to the low ranges they are not very accurate.

I agree, get a wrench that is foot pounds and one that is inch pounds. It'll save you from shearing off a bolt.
