Default Shifting problems
I'm having problems with my tranny not wanting to stay in gear when shifting. If you hold pressure on the shifter it does fine otherwise it acts like it falls into a neutral position. Any suggestions?

Make sure the linkage moves freely and does not bind. Check the shift lever at the transmission, make sure it is secure to the shaft, no looseness at all.

Thanks I checked all that. The shift lever going into the trans. moves in and out about a 1/4 inch shaft and all.
