Clutch hub wobble
Is there suppose to be slop in the clutch hub? I have about in 1/8" in and out and about 1/16th" teeter in the hub. Doesn't seem right to me.
Maybe this'll explain better.

If that is not it, I suggest you remove the clutch assembly, and check the mainshaft on the transmission, to see if it moves in and out. If the shaft is good, then it is probably the clutch hub bearing.
If the shaft moves in and out that much, there is a problem in the ball bearing in the trap door on the right side of the transmission.

As far as that lateral play you have (in-and-out), I think I agree with Dan. That looks like a bit too much and sounds/looks a whole lot like a clutch hub nut. If that nut is loose, it will also aggravate the wobble. Maybe pull the right side cover and watch the main shaft nut that holds it in the trap door bearing. With that much play...you should see the shaft move in and out if it's the trap door bearing. If the shaft dosen't move....has to be a hub bearing...if the hub nut is tight. In other words...see if the play runs all the way through the main shaft.

Actually I think I'm lucky to find this before things wore and possibly causing major $$$'s
I've ordered a Clymer before I go any further in.
I bought this thing a couple months ago and I can tell NOTHING was done in the way of maintenance.
The clutch cable was adjusted all they way out instead of adjusting it at the clutch hub. The primary chain had a lot of slack and I'm suspecting that's what caused premature wear on the hub/bearings.
Beautiful bike and it should run great when I'm done this winter.
The nut was bottoming out before tightening on the hub.
Now if I can figure out why the top ratchet spring keeps coming off .
There's some wear on the stop pin on the shift plate so it looks like I'll replace the shift shaft.
