I have had 1000 miles on my 06 Dyna Low Rider. The 6 speed is a dream.
Positive smooth shifts. 6th gear is a one to one. Never shift into it unless I'm at 60.
My Dyna has a 24 month warranty with unlimited milage.

glad to read..I just put a 6 speed into my 03 FLSTS but cant try it till the snow melts
The H-D SE 6-speed is an overdrive .86 to 1. I got the gear set
for my 03 NT 3 years ago and it runs great.. no problems..
Been going on longer trips..i.e. to Grand Canyon.. and find at 80 mph it's nice and smooth
.... no problems with 2nd or any other gear.

The direct drive in the 07 and up Harley is similar to our DD6 in that although the 6th gear is 1:1 but the primary is over driven. With our DD6 we supply a 28 tooth compensater sprocket so the 6th gear is equivalent to a .86 overdrive. Harley did the same thing with their cruise drive transmission the 6th gear will be about 500 rpms less then a 1:1 ratio 5 speed. We did this because overdriving the primary instead of the transmission is more efficient. A .86:1 overdrive is about 92% efficient where the direct drive is 99% efficient the only drag is from the main bearing itself.
