Default drive belt recommendations

hi everyone,the belt has just snapped on my 2003 sportster,looking at some aftermarket replacements,goodyear falcon and dayco panther,can anyone recommend or otherwise,

Buy stock. Some of the aftermarket ones are inferior and without spending a long time researching old threads in here, that is your best bet. Do ensure you adjust tension correctly, as wrong tension is said to be the cause of a lot of belt problems. Ignore the 'twisting' rules etc, use the correct tool.

thanks for your reply graham,yours is the 1st reply ive had,i needed a belt pretty quick,so posted to see what was what,a new h-d one here in Scotland is about Ł220 about $360 pretty expensive,money quite tight at the moment,also needed a new front tyre,so I bought a goodyear falcon from the states all in for Ł130 ,big saving on h-d part,i know its not a genuine part,but I need the bike back on the road,il just need to keep an eye on it,hopefully it will be ok,

I'm not so very far away, south of the border! Be aware of the costs of buying stuff from the USA, as shipping costs can be high, also there are UK taxes to pay before receipt, plus a fee for the pleasure of paying up. While you may get lucky, don't bank on it! Always look at UK suppliers first, especially for consumables and less expensive parts.

hi,i only noticed you lived in Bedford after I posted,the Ł130 is for everything including customs,
