Default Harley saddle bag latches

Bought black latches from Harley, drove an hour home and they didn't tap the holes for the bolts. This pisses me off to no end. You pay a premium price for their **** and get junk. I will have to drive back an hour both ways. Should I get a discount? I can go on and on with the things they do that drive me crazy. Not that it matters a ton but I did notice the bolts are different sizes, the ones I took off the bike are bigger than the new latches bolts. Great engineering Harley...

I put black latches on mine, and they bolted up without any issues. What bike do you have, and what's the part number on the latches?

These will not bolt up because they didn't tap the holes, there are no threads in either latch.

After reading the reviews on HD's website, it appears you're not alone. Several reviewers noted the same defect (no threads). If you want to avoid a trip to the dealer, use a 8-32 tap.

That's what I did, tapped them. (Make sure to use a bottoming tap.) Shouldn't have to fix Harleys screw up but I had the flu and didn't feel like riding. Bike was apart and I wanted it done.

I almost bought them, then I found out they were $75 each. Little too much I was willing to spend on something like that.
