HD had leak problems with some of the coolers. Something to do with some fittings, IIRC. I remember reading about a fix on another board. I'll see if I can find anything.
I was out in Cedar Rapids last week and saw one of the finned oil coolers on the wall for sale. It's the one that goes on the filter. I'm not sure about all the extra metal either. It should act as a heat sink to dissapate the heat. Anyone tried it?
I thought about that too, the extra metal, it should not effect the cooling. On electric motors, etc. they put heat sinks on them and the extra metal doesn't seem to affect the cooling. Or maybe it doesn't affect it adversely. Or maybe the cooling of the fins outweighs the extra metal. I don't know.
It is supposed to be a type of metal that dissipates the heat (did I spell that right?)
ORIGINAL: igniter

I have had luck with the Pro-One oil cooler.. I have never used one on my own bike, but have put them on many. Its pretty trick.. you can get it with and with out a tem guage. Looks like a sneaky-pete NOS tank when its mounted on the down tubes.
