Default Suomy Apex Full Face

I had a hard time finding reviews on this helmet, so I mainly went with word of mouth by friends who have Suomy helmets.

I spent an hour or so at Cycle Gear looking at helmets and trying them on. Everything from the Bilts to the Shoei and Arias. None seemed to fit like I wanted. I was looking at afx on line before I went to the store. Thats what I had the intention of buying but after trying one on I didnt like it because I felt that it only covered half my head. Weird right.

I saw the Suomys. They only had one small display stand of them. I picked one up. WOW. This thing is light! I started talking to a floor rep, and he proceeded to tell me that this is the one most people tend to race in. I can see why. Light and not a lot of frills. Exactly what I was looking for. It vents extremely well. Very soft inside. Supports my head right where it should.

I was told that its somewhat difficult to remove the padding and changing the shield. Also remember that this is their (race) model, so I would expect that. Everything that is built into this helmet is for a purpose.

There is very little room inside for speakers. Im ok with that, the helmet itself is smaller than my old Icon. I wear a large in both.

This helmet is very loud at speeds above 55mph. Sound doesnt bother that much. It does sound louder than the Icon though. There is no helmet push when turning my head at speed to do shoulder checks. I had the helmet well over the speed limit and it didnt toss my head around.

Iv only rode maybe 100 miles with the helmet but so far I love it, and will never go back.

I will be going back friday to get the smoked shield for it.

I will try to keep updating this the more I ride, so far I love it.

So after plenty of riding this helmet is perfect for me. Still fits like it should. There is a Whistling noise with the visor lifted all the way up which is very annoying but I dont ride like that often. It happens at 25mph+ The visor works on a friction system to hold it in place I havent tried it at highway speeds to see if it will hold its self.

That icon helmet looks like something you would see on robocop lol

I bought a Seven Zero 3/4 there for my ol lady and within a week the both vent tabs broke and the face shield constantly blows off. I live 90 miles away and never bothered bringing it back.
