I build the odd custom, maybe a couplea year, so I'm not a high-volume consumer or big businessman.
I must say first that the last set of wheels I purchased for my Busa project were RC Comp <turn and spit> chrome spinners. They cost me just under10 grand for the set. Never mind the three screw-ups sending me the wrong stuff (I finally had to settle for polished aluminum), and the required payment up-front, their customer service was disgusting, and their products garbage. I wouldn't take anything for free from RC Components <hack - spit>.
But I digress.
I was looking around for a set of wheels for my Deuce. I was going to simply go with a chrome exchange for the rear wheel from the local dealer for the usual price, and then buy chrome brake discs. My pulley's already chrome. I was looking for perhaps the diamond-twist fatty spokes for the front wheel. I was browsing the internet one evening, searching for suppliers, and prices and such, and came across Hogpro's website.
Meh. Found a wheel I liked, and sent them an email with some questions. It was replied to by the next day (there's a 4-hour time difference between where I live & Cali). I thought "great". Then we had a strange bout of unnatural weather up here; the month of December didn't really drop below 5 degrees Celsius and was sunny. I finished the bike in November, so I was itching to ride. Getting new wheels took a backseat, my latest chopper project was at my fabricator's, so I took to riding instead of pursuing my wheels.
Two weeks ago I was back on HP's website, and found their "monthly specials" section. I came across the Carriage Works chrome wheels, discs & pulley ad, so I sent a brief email to confirm the sale price, etc. Jerry got back to me right away, so I phoned him the next day and ordered my product. I almost fell on the floor when he told me he'd ship them out that day, and e-mail me a tracking number.
Bullshit methinks. No supplier does that so quickly. If they remember, they'll send you something in a few days. Not so - the email arrived promptly with all my info. Well I'll be damned.
Anyhoo, I took delivery of my Deuce's new shoes today. I was very impressed with the packaging. It was not a matter of packing them in whatever boxes they had lying around - they use boxes & packaging for shipping rims safely. Also, my pulley & discs were already installed, as were the wheel bearings. All I need to do is throw a set of rubber on and go. Once I put a set of skins on them, I'll post some pics in the New Members forum.
What made the greatest impression, believe it or not, is that they actually included the teflon sliders to install the tires. That was kind of a classy touch.
Since I now have a foot of snow outside my garage door, I won't be able to take the Deuce out for a road test, so I can't attest to the quality of Carriage Works products. That will have to be a post for a later date. However, I can vouch for the exceptional level of service I received from Hogpro.
Shouts to the brothers & sisters that work there.

C'mon Jerry @ HogPropull thru for me buddy.
They also sell tires and will even mount them for you before shipping.
One other note: I had mine installed at their shop. Had no way to bring back my stock wheels and tires. No problem. They shipped them to my office via UPS at no additional charge.

Whatever the case, they're on now, and look nice. I have a few more odds & ends to put on, and then, weather permitting, I'm going to take her outside and snap some pics.

Just finished installing my rims. They went on without a hitch, but it was a tad tricky shoehorning the rear in. Mainly a bit tricky since I'm trying not to jam or scratch the new chrome. I was having a hell of a time with the rear caliper, until I read my maintenance manual. What ended up happening was that the rear caliper bracket slipped while I was muscling the wheel, and I dropped it. It fell perfectly into place since it was almost on the disc. How's that for lucky? I had tried for 1/2 hour to get it on, and there you go. Maybe I should have stood back and thrown the bracket at the wheel.

The only nit-picking thing I can say was the balancing. The wheels are balanced perfectly, but several weights were used.
A buddy of mine had informed me that if installed correctly, no weights are needed. (he does all his)..I asked him shoudl I mention that to them when I ordered, but he said no becasue they may take it as an insult to thier craft.
But, again......I'm totally satified, andthey looks great!!!!!!!
