Planning to trailer our 2012 Ultra Limited from N. Ont. to Jacksonville, Florida towards the end of Feb. Would like to park the truck/trailer and ride for a week or so. Any thing special we need to cross the border with the bike ? Any ideas on where to park the truck/trailer appreciated. Figured we would find a reputable motel and leave them there.
I just got back from Fla a couple weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to have family in Jacksonville where I kept my trailer. Try calling a local Harley dealer in Jacksonville, I bet they will know of some place to store your trailer. I pretty much rode A1A all the way to Key west then back through the center of the state. The ride was perfect and A1A was the perfect solution to the northern winter blues. Believe it or not I didn't hit any significant traffic the entire trip with the exception of Miami, where I expected that anyways. You are going to have a blast, have fun and check back in when you get back with a update.
When we trailer our bike we always leave the truck and trailer in self storage parking lot. It has 24 hours video surveillance and don't have to worry about someone breaking in. We also look for self storage place out side of town even if we have to drive 20 to 50 miles to the nearest town or hotel. Further away from main attraction cheaper it is and more space to park.
Rode all over Fla last Feb. Ocala , Daytona, Tampa, Naples , Miami & down to Key West. GREAT TIME, GREAT WEATHER.
Check on the Mini Storage yards, that's what I did when I took the whole Family to Panamal City Beach, had to trailer the bike down. Wasn't sure if the Condo had a place to park my trailer. Had arrangement made with a storage place, ended up didn't need it. No money spent.
