I'll be there probably the 2nd weekend. I'll be watching to see if anything gets put together. Instead of meeting in laconia, it could be a good idea to meet at Bentleys saloon since it's a great place to hang and easy to get to from the laconia area. Don't believe I'd want to ride back from there since it's a great place to have a few.
North Conway NH is the place to stay, Plenty of rooms as there are probably a good 1000 rooms available through out the region. There are many rides around the area planned around Laconia, such as a motorcycle ride to the top of Mount Washington (bikes only), the Kangamangus Highway, etc. North Conway is about 35 minutes from Laconia. Plenty of outlet shopping as well. It was voted as one of the top 10 places in America to vacation. I live half way between Laconia and No Conway and every year I see No Conway doing more and more to capitalize on bike week.
I live in NH, about 15 mins from Laconia. I usually hightail it out of town prior to the start of "bike week". It has actually become "cop week". I was bummed to discover that Rendezvous start this year does not line up exactly with Laconia so I guess I will just go for a nice long ride. I can not stomach an environment where every move is scutinized by local state and federal law enforcement. Call me old but biker events are intended to give us the opportunity to unwind and enjoy.
I usually go every year but the guy who always cut me a great deal on his condo in Weirs sold it this fall so I'm looking for a place to stay.... I got spoiled...stayed there the last 5 years....
also a good friend owns a hotel in area i can get you info on
hey, headed there 1st weekend--would love info about hotel in area--I only live an hr and a half away- but got friends coming and a stay closer to the venues never hurt---Rocker
