Good post Buzz....I have been twice, once for the Hoop-lah and the other a week early for the ride. Two totally different experiences. While the Hoop-lah is fun, in it's own sort of way, Going early and being able to enjoy the rides was alot better. I forsee the same approach in the future!
Vanocker Canyon Road (26/135/170) is off Nemo Road...
stop that!!!! lol...Vanoker had a section right in sturgis that was dirt for many many years, nobody took it!!!we had a blast for years, used run down to nemo at sunset and still be back in camp before dark.. This is a 55mph Road till all the trailer queens show up and feel the need to ride it at 30 and still slow to 25mph in the twistys....was a perfect little get away that has been paved

This is what we are planning for next year. I don't like people so much so that's part of the reason not going there this year.
Plan on going early for all the riding, then a couple of days of the rally.
Thanks for all the information. Looks like I will be doing 30 MPH on my way to Nemo! :P
We are staying at the Full Throttle and I think that there is a road right before Sturgis, that by passes down town. I believe it is on the north side of a hill from down town. Does anyone know the name and is it paved? Thanks.
