Today was probably the most exciting day of all. Started by getting the hell out of the queer infested **** hole of Las Vegas. Everywhere I looked there were men holding hands and kissing. Sorry I don't buy into the Rainbow Flag deal. Rain was on and off all day. On to Boulder City, then past the Hoover Dam and onto Kingman. Then a few miles east on I-40 to AZ 93 South. Took this a few miles then turned east on AZ 97, and 96. Lots of animals and curves saw a few foxes and coyotes. Then on AZ 15 and 10 through Skull Valley then to 89 A on for Jerome. Jerome, AZ is one incredible ride. Got lots of pictures and have posted them on the blog. Will do some serious editing to it once home but for now it's just being thrown up there. Plans were to continue on to Payson, AZ for the evening but I got hit with a severe windstorm coming out of Cottonwood, AZ then the rain started. Riding sideways in 50+ MPH winds with rain was not something I wanted to do no more than I had to. Once I crossed I-17 I saw several Hotels near Camp Verde, AZ so that's all today.

A couple of questions; what kind of camera are you using and how do you have it mounted?
I have a Sony Cyber shot, the smallest one and I have a handlebar mount. 50% of the pics I take get deleted but there are always plenty of good ones.

Big Bend National Park today, wow. It's going to be very hard to ever get excited about riding the Three Twisted Sisters ever again. That is a must do ride. Alpine, to Marfa, to Terlingua, through the park, down the one road with the awesome curves and out to Marathon, TX.

Nice trip and thank you for sharing!

I went up 285 from Fort Stockton to I-40 en route to Albuquerque for HOG Officers Training last February. I dubbed 285 the Highway to Hell.

Fort Stockton to the NM border had the worst potholes I have ever had to deal with. Some were unavoidable and some slammed me so hard it knocked cruise control off. Once to the NM border all was great until Roswell. From Roswell to I-40 it was nothing but 50MPH crosswinds the whole damn way, with absolutely nothing to look at. I figure fighting the wind was the only thing that kept me awake for that 120 or so mile stretch.

Couple of days later I had to return the same way. Hit the TX portion in the dark. Those potholes suddenly became impossible to avoid.

The crosswinds are a bitch, I got hit twice on this trip with really strong winds. On 95 south of Walker Lake Nevada I was riding at an angle for at least an hour then leaving Cottonwoood, AZ for Camp Verde I got hit with 50 MPH+, made it to Camp Verde and stopped. The bad thing about living in South Texas is it is either one very long day or 2 days to get to another state. But if it was all smooth riding everybody would be riding.
