Couple of updates... next week I head to the Coast to spend a week with my youngest daughter... we are heading over to Victoria for several days, and staying at the Empress... when I get back, there is one more loop I want to get done before deep fall sets in... and I bought a seasons pass at the local hill which will be my winter fun.

got a nice suite for four days with a Harbour View... taking my Sunday Go to Meetin clothes, as we are "taking tea" on the Sunday...

... One last rounder... a bunch of roads i have been on this year, but in different directions, and a few I have not been on in a long time...

... and then a winter wonderland... I am going to have to get back in shape to get the full benefit of the season, and put a new set of Bindings on my skis, they are well past their "Best Before" date... just bought my Seasons pass today.

I would like to make that loop one day. And it looks like it will be a nice weekend.

From the dining lounge...

From the living room...

From the bedroom...

The living room… Which was my bedroom but we are going to switch up, as the bed is too soft in her room For her… this unit is designed to be either a two bedroom/living room area, and has a private room for servants, or three individual units… The hotel was built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad at the turn of the 20th century, when I assume the wealthy stayed in these units, and brought some of their own staff… The hotel has been updated many times.

Part of The upper lobby, which is where I coffee… and where I am updating the thread from now...

The Parliament buildings from the front lawn hotel...

The hotel… The front area where the umbrellas are is the outside eating space… The entrance and hotel is behind me… You can see the entrance space in the picture of the bedroom.

Wife and I had high tea at the Empress. Great experience even for an old crust truck driver.

The main bedroom… With a private bathroom just behind me...

The view from the main bedroom window… The area down below is the reception area above it is a herb garden for the chefs…

The living room with the bed folded out… It has its own private bathroom… On the other side of the fireplace wall there’s another full bedroom like the one we have… The place is huge.

I stayed in the Empress about 30 years ago for about a week… Me, my wife at the time and the two kids… She was taking a course, and I came down for the holiday with the girls… We got a Perdiem, And because I worked for CP at the time, and the empress was a CP hotel, I got an employee discount, so we got to stay in the hotel… We just couldn’t afford to eat here… LOL… I’m pretty sure we were on the second floor in the same wing… One day I was walking by the suite we are now in, and askEd the cleaning lady If I could look inside… She said sure… I took the Tour and said to myself, one day I got to come back and live the highlife… Nice thing is not only can we stay in the room… We’re also eating at the hotel just about every meal… tomorrow night we’re going to go out to a restaurant called Pagliacci‘s… We ate there when we were here 30 years ago… That’s a whole Nother story I will share tomorrow night.

Pictures of you in a coat and tie. Or I won’t believe it.
How about pic with you and daughter and a big smile on your face.
