I just found out my wife got her vacation. I have never been to Americade and wondered if anyone on here has gone and if they enjoyed it. Gonna start calling to see if we can get a room. It's about a 600 mile ride from home to Lake George.
The event is fun and the riding in the area is excellent. Take a day and ride to Lake Placid for lunch. Make sure to take a ride over the Lake Champlain bridge.
Better make your lodging reservations a month ago though.
Well, I got a room at the Marine Village Resort. I've ridden out to Sturgis and on out to the Beartooth Pass and onto Yellowstone several times. Lake George will be a nice little get away. Looking forward to it.
You will not be disappointed as long as you don't overbook the "stuff" at Americade. Choose a few things to do. Make sure that you make the time to walk Canada St (Main Drag) in the evening and watch the bikes and the people.
Wife and I have been going to Lake George and done a bunch of Americades over the years. Lots of great riding, the vendors are fun to look through and the demo rides can be interesting if you want to ride a different bike. Also look around for other vendor sights, there is usually a bunch set up in Warrensburg (10 minutes north of Lake George) and at the Fairgrounds in Warrensburg.
Private message me if there are any specifics that you are looking for.
Laconia starts when Americade ends. You may as well kill 2 birds with one stone and take in the oldest bike rally in America. I'm thinking this years is the 94th.
I've been there several times and agree with the previous posts, it's a great time. The riding out East in New York is amazing. The people are terrific. I like to get a roadside table early in the evening on the main drag at one of the cafes, tip the waitress a twenty and sit for a couple hours and bike and people watch. Very mellow and you'll see every kind and color of bike go by...

I've been thinking of riding on to visit the White Mountains. Looks pretty interesting. Would like to ride to the top and check out the wind up there. Like they say- So many roads and so little time !
