I don't think so. We found hitting Key West on the weekends during March the best time. All the Spring Breakers leave before the weekend starts and most don't show up til Monday. Saw only one cruise ship, they came and went. Doing it all again next year.
Coming down that way I'd slip over and ride The Tail of The Dragon. 318 turns in 11 miles.....the best twisties I've ever experienced! The North Georgia mountains are some great riding and there are some great wineries along the way.
So, going into the Keys is best on a Monday through Wednesday?
The general public seems to be rather predictable in regards to hours to avoid.
But keep in mind that accidents can block traffic for hours.
Friday evening rush hour towards the Keys can be terrible and Sunday morning after 10:30am leaving the Keys can be really bad also.
Plan on several stops during your Keys trip to enjoy the sights...if not it will just feel like a straight boring road.
Catching a sunrise while riding the bridge on Card Sound Road or the 7 mile bridge can be rather nice.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt...won't go back to tail of the dragon. Way too many jackasses on crotchrockets treating it as a raceway. A buddy of mine got run into on a curve by one of them and I was way too close for comfort. I would much rather ride the Georgia Dragon. More fun, less people, More curves. Just my $0.02.
Getting closer to go. Which highway is better, 276 or 215/178 from Waynesville, NC to Greenville, SC? Looking now for some decent roads to ride that aren't superslabs.
Current plans are to ride from Slade, KY (hiway 11) to Cannon, KY, then 25E to 81 then 40 then 276 or 215/178.

Should be a good ride.
Coming out of VT heading down also.....hope I miss the damn hurricane. Lol
