We are planning on a October trip to Nashville then over to Memphis for some BBQ, then to Branson. Probably going to head south to the Ozarks. Anything on the must see and do list.
I would take Peel's ferry across Bull Shoals. From there catch hiway 7 down to Jasper.
If you time it right, you could spend the night in Harrison and go to Boxley valley in the evening or early morning and see some of the elk in the valley.
Hiway 7 is a great ride. If you have the time, take 16 West from Jasper.
Other nice rides in Arkansa include the Talimena Drive through Queen Willimena park, Mount Magazine and Petite Jean state park.
The riding in AR is pretty good and no traffic. Eureka
springs is a cool town. I would like to go back and walk through downtown. We rode through town and the road continues above town with a lot of very nice old homes. It is a really cool old town with a lot of shops.
October can be real iffy on the weather. Early October you may be ok, but once you hit the 15th and on there can be some pretty good cold fronts go through. Shouldn't have to worry about snow or anything, but could make for a cold days ride.
