Took a ride to Death Valley this week. This pair of planes made a couple passes early this morning. An F-16 flew by at about 200 feet and 500 knots. Didn't get a pic of that one.
F16s fly assimilated dog fights from China Lake. They shock me every time. Example: at the rest stop above the valley, while I was leaning over the rails, they were wingtip to wingtip up the canyon. They have buzzed me at 100 feet or less on the valley floor. Shocking when you feel the heat of the engines and see the pilot's face smiling and a thumbs up.
