28 mph winds couldn't keep me from a little after dinner therapy.

I went with the Night Rod.

Some glamour shots.

Nobody fishing today.

Thats I-39 on the other side of the lake.

Short, but sweet.

A little ride, after a day of household chores. The ride was shorter than I wanted it to be, as the bike started running like crap about 20 miles from home. Spitting, sputtering, surging while holding a steady throttle....I'm thinking fuel filter, or something along those lines. It may be awhile before it gets rode again.😔

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I had to stop for a snack.

Not sure what was going on here.

Not what I was hoping for.

Finally got the wife out for a ride.

Stopped at McGrath HD, in Dubuque IA, for the a/c, as it was 95 out. The a/c cost a hundred dollars.

Galena IL for wine.

Massbach Ridge Winery....tasting room.

Not busy.

Pretty nice place.

She tasted about 12 different wines. I don't drink.

Empty sidewalks.....don't see that Friday - Sunday, or holidays.

Galena Cellars Winery....tasting room.

This is their new place, its three stories and really nice.

She only tasted three wines here, but the glasses were fulller.

We stopped at a pizza place we haven been to since pre-Covid. Still good.

Pretty awesome day, despite it being extremely hot and humid.

Night Rod update: after spitting and sputtering in the last ride, today I checked it for a few issues, like fuel spraying in the tank, low coolant and a dirty air filter. No issues with any of those. I took it for a 20 mile ride, no issues at low or high speed or low or high rpm. It was down to a quarter tank of fuel so I topped it off and did 25 miles more...no issues. Maybe it was fuel, maybe it was the heat, maybe it was just a gremlin that won't appear again. Time will tell.

The wind was up to 50 MPH yesterday. 30 - 40 for most of today. No riding for me. That's TOO much wind therapy.

I've had enough of high winds this season. It's been crazy, for sure. Today was 87, low humidity, and damn near no wind.

I managed to get out on both bikes.

I ran the Night Rod pretty hard...no issues.

This is further than I rode the other day, when it started running like crap.

Took the wife to dinner on the Limited, then we met up with a bunch of old classmates, to remember one we lost too soon.

Not a high mileage day, but still a good day.

I was trying to test out my new Freedom shield but the winds kept hitting me from every direction. Tough to decipher if it's any better than my last windshield. Did not get out AT ALL this weekend despite the nicer weather. Sometimes life gets in the way, did I say life? I meant wife

It's time to start thinking about a Harley trip. I had weeklong Jeep trip planned for Moab, but as can happen, that trip has been cancelled. A solo Jeep trip doesn't interest me, but I'm always ok with a solo Harley trip. Time to start looking at a map and thinking about a ride...or maybe just wake up and go one day?

Since I'm leaving for "Tail" on Monday I had no time to order a bigger windshield. The Freedom Shield 8" has the wind hitting a little higher but it seems worse than my stock 8" The way it hits my head at 80 mph or so gives me the feeling of my brains being scattered. (or that's just me) Not conducive to a long ride. Found a HD 10.5 on FB Marketplace and picked that up for $70 and it is much better. Not blaming Freedom Shield. I like the 8" just not for long rides. If had the time I would have gotten another FS, just 11" or so.
