Adventures with the "Scorpios"
We arrived home yesterday at around 2 pm. I would like to say it was an uneventful journey home but not to be.
On Wednesday night around 9 oclock, in the pitch darkness, and 30 miles north of Cedar Falls Iowa, one of the trailer tires decided to grenade. It blew so bad it ripped the fender right off the trailer, and was never to be found.
Someone was definitely looking out for us as I pulled off the 218 highway onto the shoulder. Lady Luck was on our side, and let me tell you, we were in the middle of nowhere. As I came to a stop Suzie looked to her right and there was a farmhouse and a fellow in his double garage, with the lights on, working on a derby car. I limped down his driveway on the rim and asked him if it was ok that I put the spare on there. I was prepared, I had a spare, a jack and a wheel wrench. He said pull er up here and I help you fix that. He had a jack and air impact gun. In about 15 minutes the spare was on, I slipped him a 20 and thanked him, and we were back on the road.
The next morning (Thursday) off to Discount Tire in Cedar Falls and purchased a new rim and 2 new tires. Excellent service and back on the road within an hour.
Was great trip to say the least, and we made it home from there safe and sound on Friday.
Honestly folks, as they say, you cant make this stuff up!
Cheers, Terry

Its what caring people like this fellow and we do.
Thanks and Cheers, Terry
Took a trip today to a trailer dealership about 45 miles form home today. Picked up a new fender and some lighting that was destroyed in the tire explosion. Thankfully they had everything in stock. Now its waiting for the weather to stop raining for the install. Another two days of raining coming yet. Does look like a good weekend coming up to ride. Let’s hope!
Cheers, Terry
New fender sitting on the work bench ready for installation.

Some stickers we picked up for the back door of the trailer.
Glad to see you ride is all fixed up and you are riding again.
Enjoying your pics!

New fender and lighting all repaired with new waiting for the next trip.
We used to go to Lake of the Ozarks for boating events and to the annual shoot out. Quit when a friend of ours died trying to break the 200 mph mark in his cat.
I did not know there was a bike event. We’ll have to put it on the list to check out.
