Default Oregon

Just made it back from the first long trip on the RGU. The more I rode it the more I liked it. Great power, handling and protection. Crossing Wyoming we rode for 300+ miles in 40+ mph winds that were crosswinds or headwinds. Tried to stay off the slab out as much as possible. We rode thru the lower Tetons over to the Sawtooth range in Idaho. This was a great road except for when the bear crossed in front of me. Had a really good look at him as I passed. We then rode over to Sumpter, OR and visited the gold mining dredge they have. We then rode forest service roads up to Heppner, OR.

The Sawtooth range south of Stanley.

One of the waterfalls.

The water falls along old Hwy 30 between Troutdale and The Dalles are beautiful.

Round trip was 3400 miles.

Took this picture at Mt. St. Helens.

Isn't that Multnoma Falls? One of my favorites.

I will be in the Sumpter area during the solar eclipse in August.

When you say 'forest service roads', were those gravel or paved?

They were paved. For the most part they were good roads but you had to watch for rocks in a few spots. Here is a closer up view of the route.

Yes it was. Only problem was the parking lot was packed. Took a couple of swings thru the parking lot to find a spot.

Looks very nice. I enjoyed going through Stanley a few years ago.

Nice route. Great variety. The M-falls are one of the top sights in the Gorge so fills up early but really worth it. Thanks for sharing.
