From Oark is there a hard surface/blacktop running east to HWY 21?
Been to Arkansas many times but yet to visit Oark so planning that this time. Staying in Eureka Springs so wanting to hit 21 back north and looking for a way without going south first.
We were in Oark, in 2014. We did not travel the East road out, we back tracked the road coming in from the west. I looked through my photos and they show the road to be a smooth paved road. I would say it surely goes East in the same way to 21.
After more research and using Google Maps it appears to turn to gravel! I won't be doing that so I will either head south to connect with 21 or I will backtrack and take 16 across to 21!!
Well the road east out of Oark does turn to gravel! I back tracked to the intersection of 215 and 103 and went south to Clarksville on 103.
The Oark general store was packed with many people waiting in line so we decided to skip eating there. To my surprise in Clarksville at the 64 and 21 junction was a new gas station....I believe it was called Motion Fuel...we needed fuel before heading north so we filled up! Talking to my group about where to eat and realize that the station also is a burger joint. To our surprise and delite they served the same burgers...pie..etc. that the Oark General Store does! Well we chose to have a Oark Burger there...they are incredible...and the pie as well!! Great service from the staff which were super nice!!
Great Place for Ethanol Free fuel and a fantastic Oark Burger! I will be stopping there on all my trips to Arkansas!!
