Picked up my first HD in the spring (a Sport Glide) and knowing I have work on the West Coast in Mid August, just shipped it to LA and plan to ride back east. Typically, I've written directions on an index card and taped it to my tank. For my first touring trip, what makes sense: getting a smart phone holder or Cardo/Sena? (I did a test ride the other day: 3 hours to Tale of the Dragon, rode it with my red wings scraping through curves, camped, and then rode it again and then home.)
My nominal plan (with my sleeping bag and hammock + tarp) is to ride up the coast for a meeting in Oakland, and then head some version of North and then East (Montana?) to enjoy some state parks before busting a groove back to NC once I get to the flat stuff.
