I’m going to be in San Antonio mid December for a 4 day layover. If I rent a bike; what are the must see’s within a two hour (one way) ride? BBQ, dancehalls, small towns, what have you...

Bandera (Cowboy capital of the world), Twisted Sisters, Luckenbach, Gruene, TX (Oldest dance hall in TX), Coopers BBQ Llano, TX (there is one in New Braunfell, TX as well).

2M Smokehouse is in town. Open for lunch Thursday-Sunday. They're on the Texas Monthly Top 50 List. Not really a ride but good eats.

If you simply want to ride then get on Hwy 16 NW of the city. Stay on 16 N to Bandera- Medina- Kerrville- Fredricksburg, hop over to Luckenbach, then turn around and take the same way back. Take your time and just enjoy a winter ride.
IMO, stay NW and away from IH 35 and 281.
