Anyone have plans for the Laughlin River Run this year? We will be leaving on April 18, with planned stops in Las Vegas and Primm before arriving in Laughlin on the 20th. Will be staying at Harrah's. If any of you are going to be at the run give me a shout. Maybe we can meet up for a cool one.
Would love to do that with you, but alas, we have a WTI class going, and I'm an instructor. Normally falls on a good weekend, but not this year. The local HOG picked up and went to Laughlin yesterday and I think they have another ride planned. I have been out of town every month for their meetings, so I have not been able to get any info. I've not been there, but I hear its great.
it sounds like fun Bill, but we have this years plans set for flying ito Vegas the 2nd week of July. Haven't decided yet, but may trailor the bike to Stone Mountain Ga. during the boys Spring break.
Bill, I'm planning to go this year. I'm trying to get some guys I ride with to go but no one has given me a definite answer yet. I don't have my accomodations settled either. All I know right now is that I'm going.
Let me know when you get something definate and we will make arraingments to get together. We are going to Vegas, Primm, and then Barstow, Ca. before going on to Laughlin. There is a 50+ mile stretch of Old Rt.66 between Barstow and Needles that I want to ride, so we are going a little out of the way.
Judging from where you are, maybe we could meet in Bastow on Wednesday the 20th and ride on in to Laughlin. We are planning to have lunch at Roy's Cafe(Historic place on old Rt. 66) that day.
Thursday is a great day for hitting it for Lunch. It may not be open Wed. The place is rocking on Thursday.
It is a main watering hole on the way to Laughlin.
Beer, Water, Gas(2.99 gal). Hamburgers are ok, but stay away from the Hot Dogs if it's too late in the day.
Well worth the time to stop and watch the world go by.
It is really just a wide spot, but it always makes me smile to pull in out of the desert and see 200 - 300 bikes all over the place.
Freedom of the road I guess.
Roy's in Amboy. We are hoping to find them open on Wednesday, if not I guess we'll wait to eat in Needles, no big deal. I just want to go by there, as it is a world famous place if you are into Route 66. Plus, I want to ride that 50+ miles of 66 between Ludlow and Essex.
I used to travel 66 back in the mid 60's while making weekends home from Barstow, Ca.
