Yellowstone Shutdown Question
I think Yellowstone may be open thanks to private companies and individuals. No Government service is what I am hearing.
PIERRE, S.D. - The federal government's partial shutdown finally began to hit home Wednesday after the Christmas holidays. But South Dakota's state government isn't paying to help any federal agency stay open – so far.
"Not at this point, but the state will continue to evaluate that, depending on how long the shutdown persists," Tony Venhuizen said. He is chief of staff for Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
Venhuizen said the governor decided against paying to keep Mount Rushmore National Memorial open this time, because it's winter when visitation is low.
Rushmore's concessions operated by Xanterra are open, but the evening lighting ceremony has been lights-off until the shutdown ends.

thanks but i prefer to go in our winter not yours
I've been hearing that most parks are open but the services such as restrooms are closed and no garbage pickup. You can bet the restrooms are open and the waste baskets are being emptied in the Senate Office Building.
