Looks like it will be a Solo trip, either last week in August or 2nd week in September. Rain gear will be packed!

I haven’t read all the post but if it hasn’t been mentioned and you’ve looking for a place to,stay in Hotchkiss, the Hotchkiss inn is recommended and there’s a decent bbq place in town, FYI.

Just came across this..... should I update my Will?

Wolf Creek Pass
Elevation: 10,856 feet
Location: Traversed by US Highway 160 between South Fork and Pagosa Springs, CO

Why it’s dangerous: Well, there you have it. If you thought the other mountain passes and roads looked bad,
the Wolf Creek Pass is actually the worst according to experts who rated it based on “snow, switchbacks, steepness, traffic, elevation,
distance from help and frequency of accidents” in the Durango Herald.
With seven percent grades, switchbacks and zero visibility on most days, the Wolf Creek Pass is a warning for truckers who are told to “beware the wolf.”
The writer of this post has unfortunately traveled this one, so you’re getting a first-hand opinion to stay away.

I have ridden up Wolf Creek Pass from the Pagosa side at speeds approaching 90 mph, of course not that fast in the curves! I had the boards scraping most of the way around the curves! People were looking at use, yes 2 of us, like we were crazy! Of course they were right, we are/were crazy! LOL

You really can't find a bad road in the mountains! I have ridden all of the talked about roads at least 3 times! I love having all of this great riding in my own backyard! Speaking of which, I need to get in a long weekend!

If you go to Montrose/Gunnison area, make sure u take the loop(s) at Black Canyon of the Gunnisons. One of a kind scenery, plenty of stopping points, great ride. Ken

Roger that! I think day 4 is a northern loop, Gunnison, Hotchkiss Aspen, Poncha Springs, Sargents and back. Day 5 is the Southern, Powderhorn, South Fork, etc..
Will be heading to Raton, NM at the end of that day.
