First Long Ride - Ever
I've read all the posts and threads from many if you and I appreciate all the information and wealth of experience and knowledge. You guys and gals are very funny too!
I'm leaving tomorrow from Austin and will ride to Springhill Fl to see an old friend. I'm excited but nervous the same time. There is weather moving through Fl everyday apparently; I thought of postponing but realize that there will probably never be a perfect time. So...prayers are appreciated 🙂

Don't let that fun take over your sensibility.
It's better to wake up at a gas station and beat someone's *** for rifling thru your stuff, than to have that same son of a bitch get away with all your stuff cuz you're crashed and unconcience.

Its something we all try to avoid I'm sure. But you'd be surprised how well the bike handles. Just stay off the front brake. Pack the rain gear on top of the luggage.
I've been in a few bad ones and couldn't pull over (in Colorado). The only thing I could see was the NAV, and it got me to the hotel.
