Been there before but, it was 1996. Would like to stay somewhere between Port Clinton and Sandusky. Must have a smoking hotel for the wife. Don't want to spend over 100 a night. Does anyone know some good bars in /near that area? Preferably right on the water. Any other attractions would also be great.
thanks.
Beautiful area. We used to do a lot of boating on Erie and had friends in Sandusky. Good luck on the hotel rate. In the area's we travel they are booked and charging at least twice normal rate a year of two ago. May want to also look at Air B&B's. May be some deals?
Are you only looking to enjoy Lake Erie or are you looking for good riding? Ohio has some great riding but not in the Northern part of the state, the roads in the SE part of the state are really good.
And a decent Hotel for under $100…. you won’t find that anywhere near port Clinton.
BTW take the ferry over to put in bay at least one day, it’s a blast.
Google Crows nest, restaurant, bar, outdoor seating, farther down to the east is Quaker steak and lube, lots of boaters and bikers, dunno about motels, in Port Clinton, try Jolly Roger's if you like fish
I only live 70 miles away and go up every few weeks. Margaritaville is a popular biker pub in Sandusky at 212 Fremont Ave. Jolly Roger's, great fresh fish in Port Clinton. East Harbor State Park, beach or just sit near the water under a tree. Cedar point, best roller coaters in the country. Take a ferry over to Put in Bay, it's a little Wild, but fun. The whole area has a beach attitude. If you like boats and water, you will love it.
Thanks for all the reply's ! Leaving today. I will check out most of these. Will probably spend 1 day at Put in Bay. Can't wait to see what has changed in 25 yrs.
Thanks again,
sbeamer
