I had everything take care of around the house and nothing really important pending on my schedule and I needed (actually) wanted to go visit a cousin in TN that isn't doing too well.
I thought I may as well make full use of the time and also loop through WV and visit some relatives there as it wasn't too far out of my way.
Looking at the current weather (temps) and also extended forecast for rain I decide to drive as opposed to riding the Tri-Glide which I regretted on the second day
I did see the thermometer go up to 93 degrees at one time and two heavy but brief showers on the last two days of the trip.
In hindsight I should have just "but the bullet" and suited up and rode!
The only "saving grace" is that I had a great 5 day ride, got to see the folks briefly and the Tri-Glide is still in the garage "clean as a whistle" with the exception of a little dust!

The Weatherman lies as much as the rest of the news these days
You made a choice. Second guessing proves little. I my rule is take the bike unless there is something that makes it clearly a dumb idea. And then some times I take it anyway.
If you do any bit of touring, you're likely to encounter rain. Hence, I keep rain gear packed on my motorcycle. On hot and humid days, I actually welcome the rain.

I agree and I do the same.
I keep (trying) telling myself that it was long ride for time frame and I did get a late start and had to ride a few hours after dark.
Oh well, I will get at least one good ride before the season is over.
