Point 2c. That is the Duffy lake road and is a great ride, Try not to arrive in Vancouver after 3pm. That road gets backed up for miles and you could be sitting in traffic going nowhere.

MPH to KPH is easy. All our speed limits are multiple's of 10. Just drop of the zero and multiply by 6 and you'll be close enough. 50 = 30mph, 60 = 36 mph, 80m = 48 mph, 100 = 60 mph.

Not sure how much time your spending in Jasper , but there's a lot of things to see close by . I'll mention , Athabasca Falls , Maligne Lake , Miette Hot Springs ( Crazy Road ) but you'll love it , great place for a coffee and a piece of pie . Obviously you'll be going past the Glacier and the Skywalk , do it if you have time , hope your not afraid of heights , Lol .

If I think of anything else , I'll pop back in .

#93 , up to Radium Hotsprings , then stay on #93 over the mountain , you'll have to fuel up at Saskatchewan River Crossing ( only fuel stop ) to make it to Jasper ..
I have been chewing on similar: Starting from Kalispell, MT, up 93 across the border, and straight up 93 to Radium hot Springs or Banff. From there as noted north....
Then I start the debate of revisiting Glacier Nat park once more - it's only a couple days there... and.....while I'm close by... and...

Cool tip on speed conversion, Thanks.
As for Vancouver traffic, yeah, something eating at me about that stop. Maybe take a ferry ride back to US from Vancouver?? Could be a novel experience. Or not. The whole Vancouver area isn't making itself wanted at this time. Maybe I need to find the right experience/place/sights there.

Vancouver is pretty cool. We did the air tour there, the short version was enough.

Gastown was ok, lots of street sleepers in the shadows. Guess if I were out in the streets, I'd pick Vancouver also for the weather, and free Coke now being passed out.
Just hope there are no large forest fires prior to you run. They can sure hamper the ride.

So , question here , what kind of traveler are you , do you like sight seeing or are you the kind of guy who likes to see everything from the highway as you ride ?

This might give us a better idea of what your looking for . I ride with a couple of friends , opposite of one another , one likes to stop at everything he sees , usually have to plan a 5 - 6 hr ride day , with the rest for stopping and enjoying the scenery etc . The other rides as fast as he can from one destination to the next , Lol , in other words , don't blink or you might miss something .

I myself , am pretty laid back , I'll ride all day , but like to stop at every town , see all the tourist attractions etc , but like doing it in Late June , when there's hardly any traffic .

Just a note , the entire area around Nelson B.C has some spectacular roads , Creston , then north on 3A is awesome , take the ferry across to Balfour , then onto Nelson ( stayed there ) , road through Castlegar , Kaslo , Salmo . All great places , and the roads are good , not too busy .

There is no ferry from Vancouver to Washington. There was a ferry from Victoria, which is on Vancouver Island, but they recently announced it's been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Vancouver is a beautiful city with it's downtown section right up against the ocean. But other than that it's just another city. If it was me and I had the time and budget I'd booked a night in Whistler Village. There's plenty of great pubs and restaurants as well as it's just a cool place. Then the next morning you could drive through Vancouver and out into the Fraser Valley and there shouldn't be any traffic issues, it's still big city traffic but it's usually moving. At that point you could decide if you're staying in Canada or crossing back into the states. I'd take Hwy 3 into the interior, there's several border crossings from that point on.

Pssst. I LOVE Whistler Village. Used to ride there then go up and over to Kamloops.

Whistler Village is like Harry Potter's Diagon Alley. AWESOME! Nestled in like a valley with Mtn around you. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've done 5 trips to/through Canada. Never had a problem getting into Canada, most the problems were when I was crossing the border to get back into the US.
Know the answers to questions and answer quickly.
How many days were you in Canada? Not sure? Pull over, get searched.
What did you buy? If you hesitate, pull over, get searched.
Just answer the questions and don't talk a lot. If you start to tell them about what a great time you had and that you did this and that...pull over, get searched.
Finally on the last two trips I knew what to do and didn't get searched.

An excellent question. Unfortunately I find myself doing 'drive by touring'. Mainly trying to cram as many points into a trip as I can because of time limitations. When I do find a place to stop at, I go the other direction and spend too much time there for the day's travels. However, I'm not a "lets go hiking" kind of tourist, so nothing too far off the beaten path is planned. Solitude while driving in pretty scenery is it's own reward of sorts. Being a flat lander near the city, racking up miles is the norm.

Icefield sky walk = for sure.
Poking around local towns while at lunch, gas stop, overnight = yes
Scenic spots = as they strike my fancy. The Continental divide area (Colorado and north) is my latest obsession.
Trying to find "that place" - where one feels spiritual gratification just being there = yes
