You all are awesome! Thanks for all the advice. I’m looking forward to it more than ever now that I have a semi plan and have seen some of the pics. It’s a beautiful state and I’m glad I won’t be in a hurry to get back!
Our last few trips out.... the less famous towns are more reasonable on rooms... Montrose, Canon City... if you don't mind the prisons, have been recent hubs for us
You can shop on websites to get an idea... but mom and pops often discount when you call them direct and pay cash

Only place on Colorado I’ve spent time in was Fort Collins
Loved the place , was a great town to spend time in. Nice bars and restaurants , plenty to see and do.
I've traveled back and forth across CO several times in just the last couple of years. When we moved from IA to NV in '21 there was a huge problem with I-70 being intermittently closed near Glenwood Springs due to the "Grizzly Creek burn scar" mud slides. It became a real problem for me and I found a website that I now always reference and recommend: CoTrip.org .
At this point I've driven and/or ridden East/West across CO on all the major roads and a couple less major; US-160, US-50, US-24, I-70 and US-34/40. It's definitely one of the best states to ride in and we'll be headed east across CO on the bike again in just another week ourselves!
