Took a ride to CalaverasCounty Saturday, and joined a tour of Moaning Caverns. Day started off rough, and it was hot out but I would rather sweat on the bike than sweat on the couch.
I am new to the area (Contra Costa County) so any ride out of town is a good ride. Easy ride about 250 round trip, stayed on Hwy 4 almost all the way there. Traffic was lite, overall a perfect day,
Hope you all like the pics. Pictures look the best on full sceen

Very nice photos! Just out of boredom and curiosity I checked the weather for that county and it will be another hot day. The difference is at night they get a break. Here in SE Texas the heat is building so no relief at night. I hate that and do not mind the heat but when you get no break it really is tough. The example is late night it got down to 75 briefly but still humid with high dew points. This summer is going to be tough for a lot of folks.
I went out Sunday at 530am and came back at 830am with no clouds and it was cool as long as you're moving.
I've ridden Route 4 from the Bay Area over Ebbetts Pass a number times, but did not know about those Moaning Caverns. Great pics. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out next time I ride up there. And if you are new to the area you may not know about the biker hang out known as "Alice's". It is at the intersection of Highways 84 and 35 (Skyline Drive) in San Mateo County. Once you get out of Contra Costa and into Alameda County (to cross the bay), it becomes a lot cooler. It's probably about an hour's ride from where you are. Check it out some Sunday morning.
