Thanks. My unsolicited advice to take these kind of rides as soon as you can. My father, an old WWII Marine and traveling salesman, rode but never took a trip until he was 65. He and a buddy left for Glacier NP. After their first day of 500+ miles his butt and back were killing him and they turned around and came home. He continued to ride and retired shortly after that but never took a trip (he stopped riding around 70, but got the urge again at 87 and bought the biggest Harley he could - did not last long). I don’t know if no more trips for him was due to his earlier experience or something else. All I know is I told myself I was not waiting to 65 to take a trip. My first trip was at 41 years old. I’ve taken many since on 2 wheels (most 1 week because of work) and now 3 wheels after retirement (most 10 days to 2 weeks). I can’t speak for anyone else but at 74 these trips are still fun and (mostly) exhilarating, but they’re increasingly more tiring. Unavoidable interstates and bad weather are more challenging. And I’m having neck, hip and back issues my docs think could have been irritated by the trip of this thread. Thinking of getting a trailer to get the bike to get by the boring parts and get to the fun places to ride. I think it will detract from my overall experience but may fall into the discretion is the better part of valor category. I know work and family have a big say in our available time but just my two cents, start as soon as you can.

What a great trip. You went right through my neck of the woods in SW KS. I visit Montezuma often as there's a nice little bike shop there. Glad you liked Twister City, it's my "local" dealership 3.5 hours from home.
