Made it safely back home to California
Total miles was 3658 miles in 9 days.
Sturgis was a bucket list trip for me. I hope I can make it back there again some time.
The first lift was completed except for 100 yards of gravel where they needed a different machine. They are currently working on the second lift, the trucks have been passing here since the 4th. Pilot car is moving traffic around the equipment as they continue to work.
Rochford Road (east/west) has a hard surface except for a couple miles near 385 at Trout Haven. I wouldn't call it paved, it looks like they dumped the asphalt milled off 385 then rolled it. It's not very smooth but it's not dusty gravel either.

expected completion date per the FB page is 13 Sept
I wish they would pave the road leading into Glenco and the Lamphere CG, also the east entrance into the gas station on the corner where the gravel meets the asphalt was interesting. Hell with the money those 2 CG's pull in they could pave it with gold.
