Default "Going to the Clouds and Rain Road"

After reading the thread from midnight blue rider, Ill post a short review
of our ride over the "Going to the Sun Road"
July 19th
July 19th
We trailered the Tri glide up to East Glacier Park and stayed at the Mountain Pines Motel for two nights.
Saturday morning we got up at 6:00 and rode up to St. Mary where we topped off the tank and bought a few eats for a breakfast on the ride.
Our plan was to ride East to West, then turn around and ride back West to East. Upon entering the Park on the East side I had left my "old geezer" card in the truck but had my VA Medical card, the young lady at the stand said no problem, go right ahead and enjoy the ride.
As we proceeded West up the road we could see other bikers on the side of the road putting on their rain gear. We made it maybe a half mile before we were doing the same. We had rain on and off to the top then pretty much steady light rain to the West entrance where we decided to tough it out and stick to the plan. Caught a break in the out-going traffic and turned around to head East back to St. Mary.

on the way back East we found a small turnoff and ate our somewhay soggy lunch in less than ideal conditions.
My bride of almost 55 years said she had fun and it was a beautiful ride even with the cold and rain.
We left East Glacier Park this morning to beautiful blue skies...go figure,

IMHO the road should be called " Going to the clouds and rain road".
None the less, we enjoyed the ride and finished what we had planed.

Wow - totally not what you were hoping for I am sure. Glad to hear there was some enjoyment in it after all…

I’ll be running through there in just about 3 weeks…. Fingers-crossed that Mother Nature cooperates!

I would hope August will treat you better, we wanted out of the 110+ temps of AZ so decided to go in July. We've now done the three I've wanted to do, two out of three had great weather.
