Today, I'm riding with a bunch of women on bikes (1 GW, 1 BMW, 4 HD's.)
Here's our route (tentatively.)
I'll put up a pic or two, if I take any. Expected temp range: 65F-78F. Should be nice and sunny. Anyone here along the route? If not, then you should be, LOL!
TONS of bikes out, today. It's a fun route. 6,000 feet elevation gain/loss. 80F for most of it. Really warm when we stopped, but the air felt cool, once underway.
My favorite Sunday ride in January when I was still in my mid-70s:
PCH sea level starting from my house to Oceanside.
Ride through orange groves, cattle ranches, Indian lands. Up 6000ft to Palomar Mountain Observatory.
Down to Lake Henshaw stopping for a beer and burger at the Hideout.
Mesa Grande Rd to Santa Ysabel Junction. Up to Julian for apple pie desert.
Sunrise Hwy to 6000ft Mount Laguna.
Interstate 8 to Alpine. Hwy 67 to Ramona.
78 through San Pasqual Valley to Escondido & Lake Hodges.
Back home in time to take a swim in the Pacific.
