Default Trailering routes?

Has anyone pulled a bike and trailor across the midwest? I am planning a trip to the Laughlin river run and I love the rockies but I think I'd like to avoid them this time and take it easy on my six cylinder jeep grand cherokee. Maybe going north through cheyenne (are there steep highways there?) or south through oklahoma would be better.

Default RE: Trailering routes?

SOD: I have pulled trailers that were heavily loaded with my Jeep Cherokee (I-6 H.O.) on all three of those routes. Your personal information does not say where you live. My 2 cents is to take the most direct route. If you have never driven to Denver and then over the Rocky Mts. before, go that way just for the scenery. If you are coming from the northern part of the mid west, the southern route would be much further for you. The "thru Wyoming to Salt Lake City" route is great scenery, but still does not compare to the Denver/Grand Junction route. My only suggestion is to NOT hit Denver at evening rush hour and head up the mountain. There are lots and lots of people working in the Denver area that live in those mountains and the freeway can get quite congested about then. .................. BC
