Hi Philt,
Thanks for the heads up that the link didn't work, I took it out of the message.
Man, I hope the rummor of Dale selling some of his collection turns out wrong. I did hear that he was moving also. Seems his town doesn't understand the commerce that us biker types bring into that town. Oh well, some folks never understand!

The link above doesn't work. About the Wheels of Time Museum, if you are going after the first of May you better check with them to see when they are open. After May 1 they are only open on a limited basis as they are going to be moving somewhere. I think they are closed for good after August or September. I heard they were going to have an Auction to sell some of their stuff.
Phil

It's not a rumor about the auction. They have a date set. Sept 25-27. You can read about it on their website. They still don't say where they are going, but I read somewhere that it might be Texas.

I think the wheels through time museum is going to Barbers in Alabama. The local government in Maggie Valley were at one time, taxing Dale on the value of the property plus the value of his inventory. They dont appreciate the people and the money that the museum has brought to their town. I wish he and his son were not moving, but I understand. I wont spend another dollar in maggie valley ever again!
Here is a current link for Wheels through Time in Maggie Valley and if you get the opportunity to goto it, there is alot of good stuff to see. It looks like they are going to move in 2009.
I rode the full length of the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway last summer. My favorite section was the Ashville Watershed area which included Linn Cove Viaduct. Overall the Parkway is a very relaxed ride but there are occasional descending radius curves which need to be approached with caution. I think Blue Ridge Parkway is a premier motorcycle road, but like any road needs to be respected.
