Screw it we'll get up Saturday morning, pick a direction based on weather and head that way. I've got the camping gear if we want to tent it, otherwise we'll grab a hotel. Only commitment is we have to pick up the pup by 7pm on the 28th or spring for another day.
Just did a no plan trip labor day. The wife has been in Santa Fe, NM taking care of the granddaughter. I rode up from Las Cruces (285 mi) picked her up and headed to Taos. We took the high road and loved every minute. 2nd day we rode the Enchanted Circle, Angle Fire, Red River and Questa. Great time and a wonderful unplanned trip. I always said why do you need a GPS on a bike, you are never lost. I did 887 miles in 5 days.
We did a weekend to Taos and the enchanted circle last July, and I was back and forth to Las Cruces and Alamagordo a couple times last fall. I'm thinking we'll probably stay to NM and AZ on this run for the weather.
