Mexico
Four of us are planing on rideing down the Baja pennisula in mid April from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas. We would appreasiate any information on road conditions, accomodations ,laws, biker friendly places etc. Thanks to all that respond.
Get Mexican insurance. Keep the original at home & carry a copy or two.
I don't know too much about Baja but travel frequently to Rocky Point, MX on both bikes and cars.
I would not travel at night if avoidable.
Have fun.

I´ve been wanting to make that trip but up-north. From Los Cabos to TJ.
Look, travel in daylight the most you can. Expect paying higher prices for gasoline in little villages because there are no gas stations so you are gonna have to purchase gas from farmers and fisher-man at higher prices, but don´t accept the first price they give you, you´ll be able to negotiate. Carry a good first aid kit, it is the desert. Be friendly and you´ll receive friendly in return, people at the coast are wise, some (minority) will tend to take advantage of you (not violently) but if they feel your friendly mood they will act accordingly. Enjoy the trip, I´ve heard that it is beautiful out there.
Mimo.

I live in Mexico, and have ridden all over the place. I've never had a problem, but I take certain precautions. Plan your trip so that you are not driving at night, and spend the night in a fairly large town. Don't flash large amounts of money in public. Keep some of your money in your wallet, but most of it in your pants pockets. Also keep your credits cards in your pocket. If you have an extra credit card with a small spending limit leave that in your wallet.
There have been reports of tourists being robbed at night along the highway to Los Cabos. It mostly happens to people who stop along the road for the night. Use common sense.
