Fantastic pics! We're headed back down to SE Utah in July again. We plan to spend two weeks wandering through Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc. and on through Monument Valley and the 4 corners. Thanks for your trip narrative and pics. They have been awesome. I know you're having the time of your life!
Havent heard from you for a while, hows the trip going?
Sorry about not posting.. I got back home on the 19th. I'll post up some pics in the next couple of days.
I ended up doing 7000 miles on this trip and the last 3 - 4 days I've been fighting heavy head/side winds. I did manage to only have two days of rain on this entire trip, so I planned it well.. thank god for www.weather.com!
Great photo's..
I'm headed to Colorado in June, I just might keep on into Utah..
thanks
I recommend skipping Colorado and heading directly to Utah... it is the king of all states in my book. So diverse... Painted Deserts, Forest, and awesome Red Rocked mountains that go on forever. I drove through Colorado and the damn Rocky Mountain National Park (route 34) was still closed... i was very disappointed to say the least. Pretty much all that I could see was pine trees and snow. At one point on route 40 I was about 11,000 feet and it was only 20 degrees and covered in snow.. not something that I wanted to see after spending several 95+ degree days out west. I really could care less if I ever make it back to Colorado... ever!
glad to see you made it home safe, and it sounds like you had a good trip, I've never been to Utah, but you make it sound worth while. I might have to do that someday.
Again you've all given me some great responses. I'll try to post up the final route that I'm going to take.. it will be influenced by everyone that responded to this post...You folks have been great at helping me plan this trip.
I think New Olreans is completly ruled out of this trip.... and I might add some of Colorado to the trip based off of Harleyflyboy's post.
I'll check in again real soon. Again... thanks for the input folks!!
Ralph

sounds like a great trip. hope it works out well for you, and remember one thing guys, that crow that's eating the roadkill two hundred feet in front of you, toot your horn, and he'll fly away. that is unless your going over 730 miles per hour. the approximate speed of sound. hope this tip helps someone. and remember that the bunny will squish if you can't avoid him. better to squish the bunny than to try to avoid him and end up in the ditch. ride safe on your trip and have a great time with your camera too.
