Lot's of great advice here. I will be headed Southbound on my trip in June.We are catching the 101 in Crescent City after dropping down from Crater Lake and Grants Pass on 199. One other tidbit, I found a pretty cool site last night that actually shows each exit and other highlights from America's highways. Somebody must have been really bored. This being said, it was nice to see where local laws allow for the dreaded road snakes and where the road looks nice and wide. Here'e the link. Enjoy.

South of Tillamook just off 101 is a great little town, Pacific City. There is a brew house restaurant (Pelican) right on the beach at Cape Kiwanda if you want a good meal and a break in the action.
