Tent Camping
all i need is 1 post or tree or anything to tie on to, i tie the other end to the bike.
i once had to boggie in a hurry and was able to just cut it down, roll everything up, and stuff it in my trunk. 3min and i was outta there.
I do have a nice hammock but I need to carry a tarp or some clear poly to make a rain fly for it. I hope to try it on the road this summer.

The tent I use the most is a solo backpacking tent. It doesn't have near as much room, but it is much easier to pack on the bike. It is the Eureka Solitaire, and I think you can catch them on sale for around $75. I think it has a little better workmanship, and it certainly is lighter than the 2-man Coleman.
If you're willing to spend more money and still want a small tent that is fast to set up then consider the Catoma Lone Rider.

A friend of mine that does adventure (dual-sport) riding in the mountains a lot uses one. He says he can set it up in less than a minute, and taking down is not much harder. Here's a video from the website.

You can also consider one of those self-erecting jobs like the Quechea "2 second tent." Only problem is that they come in a 2 foot wide disc shape that just doesn't fit well on a bike. I have only seen one in use by a rider, and the darn thing was so odd looking when folded on the back of the bike I'm not sure it was worth it. But at $70 or less for these instant tents I guess it will get the job done.
Do you really want to sleep with the bike? I mean, I know it's a Harley, but, hell, it's still a bike.
Also, consider that it will smell like gasoline and whatever else you rode through all night (seriously, bugs f'in stink when you get enough of them).
Then, there's that giant heat sink that'll suck the heat right out of you on a cold night.
If that isn't enough, who wants to share their tent with 3 gallons of gasoline? I know, we're not supposed to have candles and whatnot in tents for fire safety, but why bring the gasoline into the tent?
Also, that's a whole lot of tent to pack. My tent weighs in at 3 pounds and packs smaller than a football and my ground tent is about 3 pounds 10 ounces and not too much bigger.
All in all, the HD tent with garage looks nifty and I see it might be kinda nice, but it really strikes me as a solution to a non-problem that creates problems of its own. I don't think it's a bad idea or a bad tent, but, to me, it just doesn't seem like it fills a real need.
