Default Need Nevada info.

Making a two or three month whole U.S. trip (I retired this Monday).35 years ago I went from Las Vagas to Reno and want to make that leg again. Back then there was a stretch of road around Tonopah that didn't have gas for about 400 miles. Is that still the case? Also (just out of curiosity) do they still have brothels around Goldfield? Thanks for any help, I can't get but around 250 miles on a tank.

Can't really help with your actual questions but I wanted to congratulate you on your retirement and thank you for your service to our great nation.

Rode the Tonapah route last year... between Tonapah to Ely is the route I think you are talking about.... not really between Reno and LV??? Looking at a NV map.... Beatty and TP looks long... should contact http://www.beattynevada.org/ call and ask them your question... they should be able to help you out... if you can... do this ride (The Loneliest Road in America,” U.S. Highway 50) it is a fun ride and if you contact Nevada Tourisum - they will provide you with a little booklet that you get stamped in each town along the way - send it back and you get a nice little cert saying you survived the loneliests road in Amercia..

Back to your question... call the above Chamber - they will provide your answer.. along the way... when you reach 395/120 be sure to turn left (West) travel about 300 yards and stop at http://www.thesierraweb.com/tiogagasmart/deli.html GREAT place to eat and LOTS of bikers there... this is the eastern entrance to Yosemite area... Then continue your travel to Reno

I used to drive from Reno to Vegas on a regular basis. You shouldn't have any issues. Its about a 550 mile ride. You can gas up in Fallon, Hawthorne, Tonopah, Goldfield, Beatty, and Silver Springs ( at least you used to be able to). It shouldn't be a problem. If I remember correctly it only about 1 1/2 hours tops between and place to get gas. Probably not that far really.

Came through there last summer (and will be going through there in two weeks) and gas was no problem, even in the middle of the night.

There are professional ladies all throughout that area. The major brothels are a little further north, but there are numerous places all along the highway at various points.

Wife and I were headed to Death Valley last year. Stopped for gas and a drink, and the back side of the convenience store had an entrance with a red light above the door.

There are no paved roads anywhere in Nevada (that I can recall) where gas is 450 miles apart. Most modern cars/trucks couldn't go that far on a tank of fuel.

Uh, not exactly.
Brothels are fairly plentiful along 95 from Vegas to Reno.
They are not allowed in the major counties in which LV and Reno are in.
Close tho!

After I posted that I did a google and was surprised just how far spread there were -

As far as paved roads and fuel... Highway 6 from Ely to Tonapah is about 180 miles (Really in the middle of NO where) one pump at a converted private home - open most of the time ?? We called the day before to make sure... not a place to run out of fuel..
