stayed overnite in la la crosse. left la crosse, went north, got on H54 and went east to green bay. very good ride. lot of forest area and a lot of rural driving with little traffic
stayed overnite in downtown GB, dined at title town brewery which was beside our hotel (very good food and a lot of fun with bar tender)
left green bay and went up west side of door county to northport, which is about farthest point north, and then went down east side and stayed overnite at motel right on lake michigan. There was a full moon that nite and it was outstanding.
then went down to milwaukee, visted the HD museum and went to house of harley.
stayed overnight west of madison and then went to house on the rock in spring green and then back to CR.

I toured the HD Museum the first day it opened up last July 08 and really enjoyed it. They have plenty of bikes and other things to see. Interesting to see how far Motorcycles have come in the last 100 years. Their a very dependable fun way to travel now. It's surprising why more people don't use bikes for commuting when weather permits, especially with fuel cost $$.
Glad you enjoyed your trip in the Badger state. The biking here is great...well, except for winter. A lot of scenery and a lot of real nice bike friendly roads.
The HD Museum is a must see for all cyclists (including the non-Harley folks). I doubt there is anyplace else in the world the displays the history and development of motorcycles.
Hope to hit the river ride in the next week or two. The leaves should be in their prime. Where is the museum. Is it by chance right on Int. 94 on the south side about east of Milwaukee. I thought I saw a building on a drive by but missed it. Just curious.
Glad you had a good time in Wisconsin, you passed through my area on 54 near Waupaca, you have to head north sometime in the Fall the scenery is great.
