Road Glide
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I don't see any need to try to compare the looks to a "coffee" machine or anything else. I'm sure alot of people don't care for your bike but have respect not to call it names. Seems like you need grow up and keep your childish opinions to yourself.

Looking to buy a touring moddle. I have rented EG and SG but for some reason the Road Glide has my attention. I plan to rent a RG in 2 weeks. Talking to a lot of HD Mechanics and owners about the touring bikes and from what I hear the RG is the one to buy.
Any feedback here pro or con on the RG vs the other touring models?
Also any feedback as to the 2009 vs 2010 RG? I think I like the 2009.
Thanks

You're on the right track.... rent both and then decide, which suits you, and your riding style.
If you're going 2 up? I'd suggest, taking the OL with you, and seeing what floats HER boat.... unless, of course, you want her to stay home. However, the ULTRA, might be the better deal, when the smoke clears, and the EG, SG, RG are all outfitted with the gear.
Looks are very important to a certain segment. And the RG, is "different" which seems to bother some folks. They are drawn to the common, and indistinguished.
In the end, it's YOUR bike, and you should get what you want..... pleasing the boys at the bar, is NOT the Road Glide's thing....
I read a post recently where Rg owners Sg owners liked the bikes and added tour pack and someother items that the Ec and ultra have on them. some were pleased some said should have bought the Classic. Also read about harsh ride because they are lowered. Don't put your choice on us we might steer you wrong , but I will say that if your looking at a Harley you can't be too far wrong!

Nobody can tell if you're joking or not. Probably because of your inability to string together a proper sentence. It's a challenge to figure out what you are trying to say most of the time because you're always using the wrong words, like "there" instead of "their".
So when you joke, or insult, or whatever it is you're doing, you loose all your impact because it's like a guy who crawls out of the gutter and starts cussing at you. You just sort of keep walking and hope he goes away.
Really, I work with people who speak english as a second language and write way better than you do. My point is, your insults don't have much merit, considering the source.

I don't know why some people don't like the looks of the Road Glide. To me, looks like just about every other touring bike from the late 70's and early 80's that had Vetter fairings on them.
I've had a fork mounted fairing on my Honda, and now my frame mounted fairing on my FLTRI (as well as on my Vision and my ST1300). I will tell you, nothing compared to the ride of a frame mounted fairing, in my opinion. I have had my '05 FLTRI for about 9 months and have put just under 9k on it, and it is an awesome machine.Just as steady as can be. I am short (5'5"), so I do like that it is lowered. I added Baker Airwings to the engine guards, and it help with heat in the summer, rain when riding in it, and with cold air in the winter. I also added the Terry Components Ultra Ride Stablizing Sysytem to it, as she rides as steady as a brick, even in cross winds and while passing trucks. Triple digits are just as smooth as can be, too....
I, personally, lean to the '09's as opposed to the '10 models. I like some of the changes (tail light, headlight bezel), but HATE some of the others (exhaust system and windshield are the biggies in that category...). Plus, you can get a better deal on an '09 at this point, too....
People either love or hate the RG. After one ride on one, you will know which category that you fall into....

my dad now has a RG after years of riding Ultras and said in his opnion in all the years of his riding he has never riddin a harley that rides as good as a RG and he has ridden alot of them.
Key factor with the RG is the fixed fairing which will make that the smoothes riding touring harley on the market you won't get the wind pushing you around like you will on a batwing bike no matter what the batwingers tell you that road glide will run straighter and truer on the highway at speed and when passing semis etc period.
Problem is most cant get over the shark nose look neither could i but my dads 09 cvo RG is growing on me.
As for 09 vs 10, if i were buying today which i wish i was i need a touring bike. I would get the 09 for a cpl reasons if iam not mistaken.
09 still had the dual exhaust which i like, still has the passanger foot boards, still has the cruise control. and there may be a few other items as well.
But the back end of the 2010 road glide looks better and most people will change the pipes anyway so there are some things to think about.
The EG will give you the additional storage but also give you a heavier center of gravity as you probably already found out since you road an EG and a SG. The SG and the RG are alot less top heavy. But to add the trunk it will cost you big time they are not cheap.

I have a '07 RG and added a tourpak, lowers with glove boxes, passenger intercom and CB radio. I ride 18-25K miles a year, mostly state highways and some Interstates. I thought I'd take the lowers off in the summer but never did. The lowers stay on all the time. Nothing like lowers in the rain! As far as the '09 vs '10 I like the '09 better. I see the '10 as more of a bar hopper than a distance riding machine. While I really do like the looks of the '10 RG I would not buy one. If HD keeps going on what ever RG path they are on I'll be looking at different touring bike manufacturers. (I'm not that sold on the Classics.)
