Default Any Utah riders

Any Utah riders still riding???? All my friends have moth balled their rides for the winter but I'm needing another ride and this weekend looks great. Leaving early Saturday morning for Moab, then Blanding, Hanksville, maybeTorrey (depending on time) and back home to Orem. Kind of a long Saturday ride, but I feel the need. Don't think the wife will want come along and wanted to open it up to see if anyone else wanted to go. Nothing is set in stone besides I need to look at a Jeep tub in Moab. Shouldn't take but a few minutes. Maybe breakfast at Moab Diner or just refuel and go. Open to any suggestions.

I'm riding for 3 more days ... then I've got my bike sold. The fellow is coming down from Canada to pick it up. I'll get in just a few more miles with a quick trip to Zion HD in the south. I wish I could catch you up north, that sounds like a good ride for a weekend.

Enjoy!

For me, I'm not mothballing ... I'm looking for next year's bike.

I don't put it away until the snow flies, the trips just get shorter, and stay way from the canyons as much as possible. Your trip sounds like a a two dayer for this time of year. Good luck

I hear ya, but also know good weather will be in limited supply shortly. Yes, I know it's a long ride, but I've left options open to make it shorter. I'm not out to kill myself, but after a six hour ride, I still feel like riding. I know what you mean about the canyons , and I will be hitting Highway 6, Spanish Fork Canyon to Price to Green River, fairly early (7 a.m.ish) tomorrow morning. That will be pretty, but the least fun part of the trip. I'll be watching for deer and dressed for cold weather. It will be my longest solo ride, but I'm stoked to do it. It would be nice to have another rider along, but I realize the length of the trip doesn't appeal to most people. I drive my wife crazy sometimes with my obsession to ride.

Wow, what a great day of riding. I went solo and had a blast. 11.5 hours total, just over 10 hours in the seat. I'll be posting a trip report soon. Left in the dark and got home in the dark. Coldest temp was 15*, brrrrrrrrrrr. I just had a half helmet with zip off ear covers. Would have been much better with a full or even 3/4. Other parts of the ride were in the 70s. Great day!
