We plan on traveling to the US in July- Aug 2010 for 3 weeks on a bike and starting in the East doing 250 -300 miles per day looking for good rides and sceneray also will have to hire bike any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

Don't know to where you're flying, but it's a beautiful country when you get about 150 miles west of New York City! U.S. Route 6 goes from Provincetown MA all the way to Long Beach CA, and goes through some great scenery. Most of 6 is rural and great riding. Some of it goes through some urban areas (like Cleveland) but you won't have any problem. I'm from PA. It'll be rolling hills & forests in the east, gets flat in the midwest, and then gets into the mountains & great scenery out in the west. You'll have a great time.

 

Just pick a starting place and go. Don't plan too much. Just take a road that looks good.
