The wife and I are planning a trip to Seaside Oregon on the first week in July. Does anyone have any recommendations for hotel or B&B. Where is the best July 4th celebration along the Oregon Coast?
Wife & i went down the oregon coast last aug. We stayed in k.o.a. Cabins @ astoria, near seaside. We enjoyed the stay. Also there is fort stevens state park very close to seaside & astoria. I believe they have cabins for rent.
Seaside does a great 4th of July with live music, car shows & fireworks. Its very popular and reservations are a must.Expect to pay $175 & up Not to far away..and a better beach in my opinion,is Cannon Beach.Quieter and not as many people. I've stayed at the KOA a couple of times and it is as nice as any KOA in the country.

+1 on Seaside for 4th. I would also recommend that you head south along the coast on Highway 101 if you have the time. I think some of the best scenery on the Oregon Coast is South of Tillamook to Florence. If you do be sure to stop in at Pacific City and the Pellican Brew pub, great microbrewery, biker freindly, and great scenery. Just prejudiced, I live in Eugene. If you go in July, you will want to plan on a slow ride, as the coast is bumper to bumper Winnebago's. There are plenty of places to pull off at scenic points to view the ocean and take a break from the RV's.

Personally I prefer the mid to south coast of Oregon as it is less congested but there is plenty to see on the north coast. Take the trip across the bridge at Astoria to Long Beach if you have the time.

Quite an impressive ride over that bridge..as long as you have no fear of heights.. and the winds not blowing to hard.
